Following the recent iOS 11.4 update, which brought a number of bug fixes and enhancements to Apple’s iPad operating system, rumors have circulated that the company will hold off on releasing iPadOS 16 until next year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is making significant changes to multitasking and collaboration functions in iPadOS 16, forcing users and developers to adjust to its ambitious front-desk scheduling interface.
The delay was caused by the front-of-house scheduling feature, according to Gurman. The new iOS update is usually released in September; however, because of the iPadOS 16 release date, it will be released in October instead of the usual yearly schedule.
Apple is also working on an all-new entry-level iPad, which will eventually migrate to USB-C, according to Gurman. The company is also developing an iPad Pro with the new M2 chip and an entry-level iPad that will ultimately switch to USB-C, he revealed.
