
Asus first showed us its Transformer AiO — an 18.4-inch Full HD all-in-one/tablet combo that runs both Windows 8 and Android — back at last year Computex, then it showed up again at this year CES, the Tanwanese PC maker has finally given us a release date and a price for its giant tablet. Transformer AiO is a powerful desktop PC, running Windows 8, Intel Core CPU, a bunch of memory and hardisk storage. As a tablet, you can keep running Windows 8 in remote desktop mode or you can run Android Jelly Bean on the device with ARM processor. The Transformer AiO is expected to be available early second quarter at US$1,299 for the basic model. You will get a Windows 8 machine running on a Core i3, 4 GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive storage, and it also comes with a DVD-RW optical drive which properly nobody is going to use it. Popping it from the dock you will get a super-size tablet with its own internal specs: a quad-core Tegra 3, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of flash storage. We will see how the market respond to this crazy all-in-one concept.

After the announcement of the cheap 7-inch MeMo Pad, ASUS has prepared another new tablet on the horizon. The MeMo Pad 10 tablet has surfaced and there is an entire unboxing video to go along with it (the original video has already pull down from Youtube). The Taiwanese PC maker hasn’t officially announced this tablet yet, but some lucky folks already have one in their hands to play with. The new 10-inch tablet is a redesigned, slightly thicker, yet cheaper Transformer Prime in a sense. The MeMo Pad series aims to be more budget friendly while not compromising on performance or portability …

Phone Maker Tianyu K-Touch becomes noticeable after they cooperated with e-commerce giant Alibaba, and we were quite appreciated with the two dual-core phones (W700, W800) that they launched previously. So, what about its quad-core phone? Well, it’s an affordable smartphone like Meizu MX, looks kind of similar to OPPO Finder, and comes with powerful hardware like HTC One X.

The Nvidia’s Kai system-on-chip underlying Google’s Nexus 7 tablet and other forthcoming low-cost tablets may also be making its way to smartphones soon. The initial target of the Kai platform were tablets, but now the Taiwan chip maker turns the project to bring affordable quad-core processors to smartphones. According to a Chinese tech site report, the Kai platform which enables quad-core mobile computing at a lower price point, will be appearing in smartphones produced by several Chinese handset makers before the end of this year …

At Nvidia’s annual meeting of investors last week, the Taiwanese chipmaker revealed the idea of a new platform called ‘Kai’, it isn’t just a piece of hardware, but a plan to democratize its quad-core Tegra 3 system-on-chip. Nvidia wants to offer Android 4.0 tablets that are more powerful than the Kindle Fire at the same price point. Nvidia will use cheaper DDR3L memory for this new platform and also the DirectTouch and Prism low-power display technologies which the company has developed. The first tablets on sale will be at this summer …

Google’s 7-inch budget tablet is coming to town. There have already been multiple reports that Google would release a US$199 tablet that features a 7-inch 1280 x 800 resolution display, enters production in April, and ships around June. Now there are more rumors floating around, it is going to produce by Asus, the new tablet will include a quad-core Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia, and ship with Ice Cream Sandwich OS …

It is completely normal if you have missed out any of ZTE’s newly launched devices at Mobile World Congress Press conference, because the company showed off too many devices. Nvidia has already announced the first batch of phones that will run its new Tegra 3 processor. HTC, ZTE, Fujistu and LG all have their latest Tegra 3 phone at Mobile World Congress, the fifth one came to the list is K-Touch Treasure V8 from Chinese vendor Tianyu. The mysterious Treasure V8 still hasn’t made its official debut, it has a 4.3-inch display and an 8-megapixel camera, and it will run Android 4.0. The previous K-Touch phone is the Tegra 2-powered W700 which was launched last year. The older handset gained attention as one of the earliest Tegra 2 phones available, and now it seems that K-Touch has continued this trend with the Treasure V8 …
