Perhaps you might think the biggest draw for Chinese Apple fans camping out for the latest China Apple store opening is the privilege of being among the elite first people to set foot in the new store, fresh with the smell of clean iProducts and new employees so eager to cheer and clap. But the major bragging right associated with today’s new store’s grand opening is snagging the limited edition t-shirt handed out to the first thousand or so customers to enter the store. ROVIO has just opened an official Angry Birds brand store in Shanghai, the first one outside its home base in Finland. The store which sells licensed apparel, iPhone/iPad cases and toys, is the first of 25 such outlets scheduled to open in China by the end of this year. The company will open its second outlet in Beijing within a month. A total of five stores will be open in Shanghai. An official t-shirt with Angry Birds-themed costs 259 yuan (US$40), while the prices of other goods are in the range of 100-300 yuan (US$15-47). The products sold in the stores are uniquely designed for Chinese consumers. The company said they are opening the stores to provide their fans with the easiest way to get authorized Angry Birds products …

The incredible Angry Birds continues to expand its fame and glory in China. During April, Rovio Mobile has partnered with China-based mobile gaming portal, to give Chinese players to download official versions of the Angry Birds game. Now the company has initialized the second phase of its strategy by setting up a team, to make Angry Birds even more popular in China. The plan is to put up 200 stores in China within the next three years, to promote and sell Angry Birds merchandise…
