
Hong Kong Disneyland will become the first Disney-owned property to get a full-fledged Marvel themed world. The announcement was made last week in HK, the city’s government which owned 52 percent of the theme park, will add an area featuring “Marvel heroes” as part of the resort’s expansion program. Hong Kong Disneyland, the smallest Disney parks worldwide, has struggled over the years to boost attendance from its key target demographic—tourists from mainland China—many who aren’t enamored enough of Disney characters to make a special trip to the park. The addition of Marvel in Hong Kong will be the first of its kind, and could be a big draw for mainland Chinese tourists after the success of several Hollywood smash-hits that featured Marvel characters, as this could attract older and more affluent visitors …

One year ago, a smart Chinese fellow from ZTE making an ultra-realistic Iron Man Mark I suit with LED bulbs. Today, it’s believed to be the same person who made an Iron Man Mark III’s helmet. The coolest part of this helmet is it has full mobility and pair of glowing eyes. It’s spectacularly animated which includes Batman actually turning into a swarm of bats and fight like Bruce Lee. Taiwanese talent Hsu Po-sheng took top place with his “Flairtending” skills and Spiderman outfit at the Asia cocktail competition held in Singapore early this month. Beating contestants from 16 other countries, he brought home the ninth consecutive championship for Taiwan in the “flair” category of the competition. The young boy has appeared in a Spiderman costume for eight years, said he practiced for at least six hours a day over the past six months to prepare for the competition, and added that his coach watched the latest Spiderman movie to help him design the performance. Two Chinese filmmakers have created an awesome Batman stop-motion short film, using highly-realistic 1/6-scale collectible action figures made by Hot Toys, a famous high-end figures company in Hong Kong. The cinematic lighting and sound effects give this film a realism that make you feel like seeing the real actors. This is the duo’s first attempt at making this kind of stop motion film. Good job, we want IRONMAN next !!

Hong Kong is frequently described as a place where “East meets West”, reflecting the culture’s mix of the territory’s Chinese roots with influences from its time as a British colony. The place is now a special administrative regions of China. Superheroes from the West usually do world-saving work, but what if they choose to live in ‘Pearl of the Orient’ ? A Chinese photographer has a creative series of photographs that show well known superheroes living rather ordinary lives in Hong Kong. Batman is seen strolling a night market, Wolverine is a meat butcher, Hellboy is spotted enjoying Cantonese hot pot, and Spiderman is getting waste paper recycling. This is a turly WTF … A Chinese comic company has just released the very first China superhero character, known as CAPTAIN CHINA. The red communist super hero is certainly a knockoff from Marvel Captain America. He is carrying a vintage pistol manufactured by the Soviet Communist Party, not the indestructible shield made in USA. When President Obama visited China, he has protected his safety. And yes, this CAPTAIN CHINA was frozen during Mao’s era and reborn in the future. And surprisingly, you can get this horrible Chinese superhero comic book in Kindle edition at Amazon.
