
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was first released about two months ago and it is very popular in Asia and Chinese market. But apparently some ‘Shanzhai’ manufacturers in China has decided to clone the Korean device. Previously, we already have a knockoff Galaxy SIII, for now Chinese consumer can buy a brand new Galaxy Note 2 knockoff in China for just about $140. Officially dubbed the Star S7180, it bears a striking resemblance to the original, that is to say that it closely matches the looks of the current flagship Samsung phablet …

After experiencing a major sales drop, the Chinese makers of counterfeit cell phones, commonly known as “shanzhai” phones, are now making a return in China market, focus on producing budget smartphones under their own brand names. Stores for these new brands are first appearing in Huaqiangbei, a well-known consumer electronics market in Shenzhen. Last year, Taiwan chip maker MediaTek rolled out high‐performance and low cost integrated chips, the move has prompted many shanzhai phone manufacturers to switch to the production of smartphones …

The One Series was announced a month ago. And now, one of the member of the series — HTC One S, has a knock-off version in China. We are curious why the Shanzai manufacturer didn’t choose to make a knock-off One X instead. But anyway, let’s check out this One S knock-off after the break…

Last weekend, Shenzhen police has successfully cracked down a Shanzhai factory that produced knock-off cell phones. Two production lines had been smashed and closed down, more than 3,000 shell casing and components to make fake Apple, HTC, Nokia and Samsung phone had been seized on the spot. Authorities have detained 10 suspects in connection with the factory. The small factory has only about 35 workers, which doesn’t consider to be a large scale production. It seems major mobile phone companies, especially Apple, are putting more efforts to track down those evil counterfeiters, by working with local police to raid their manufacturing facilities. While the whole world is waiting for the iPhone 5, iPnoho6 has released in China. Yes, it called ‘iPnoho6′ but not iPhone 6. This is the latest Shanzhai iPhone made-in-China. Actually the device cannot be called the iPhone 6 rip-off because iPhone 5 is not even exist yet. The ‘iPnoho6′ is made of cheap plastic casing in white color, and it is label as “IPDA”. It has some large speakers on the back, and it’s creative enough that the home screen button is designed in a “full apple” logo. The specification and price unknown, properly it’s a cheapo feature phone. We are curious to know how it actually works.

Chinese knockoff makers gets into the super-thin notebook game in a big way with the $499 AirBook. We’ve played around with it for a while now and can say that it looks very similar to Apple’s MacBook Air, and it’s very cheap. Unfortunately being cheap comes at a price.
The techno-sweatshops of Shenzhen have never seen an Apple design they weren’t willing to ineptly rip off, but this unibody MacBook Air knock-off is a totally different thing, it even rip off Apple’s MacBook Air unibody enclosure, for under half the price of the real thing.
