Terrible Fire Damages Building at Shanghai

This is horrible. A huge fire has broken out in an apartment block in Shanghai today afternoon. The fire is reportedly 10 stories high and the building has turned completely black within 2 hours. Bits and pieces are falling off from time to time, and people are jumping from the building to escape the fire. More than 80 fire trucks were called to the scene and we have several videos here showing the incident.

Leading European electronics retailer Media Markt is opening its first Asian store in China this month, November 17. The first Media Markt China store will open in Shanghai, it will expand to 9-11 stores in several cities of China by the end of 2011. Foxconn is their local joint venture partner, both companies teamed up in a US$200 million joint venture, president Terry Guo and Metro CEO Eckhard Cordes have just attended an opening ceremony this week in Shanghai.

Guess what, the stores in China are the highest traffic of any Apple stores. That makes a statement.
