
Aigo, a China-based consumer electronics company, recently announced that it will be bringing its a new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich slates to the market. There seems to be no shortage of ultra-cheap Android 4.0 tablets these days, and Aigo certainly has some of the most budget-friendly models around, with prices starting at 999 RMB (US$160).

We had already seen the Ascend P1 S, Huawei’s ‘impossibly thin’ smartphone, which died out Apple’s iPhone and Motorola Razr as the “world’s slimmest phone” last month at CES, and the company had disclosed the machine will sell on the second quarter of the year. Recently, the chairman of Huawei said the company intends to shift to an earlier launch date to start selling the P1 S as soon as the end of March in mainland China. However, there’s no word on the availability outside of China.

In December last year, Xiaomi sold out all of its inventory of 100,000 Xiaomi phones three hours after it was launched on its online store. Then, the company linked to a deal with China Unicom to sell subsidized Xiaomi Phone. And now, China Telecom will become the third sale channel for Xiaomi phone, and we don’t think China Telecom will order as many units of Xiaomi phone as China Unicom did. A CDMA version of the phone could launch on China’s third largest wireless carrier as early as late February or early March. The phone is currently available in China only through China Unicom, which has a three-year agreement to offer the device there.
