While netbooks seem to have largely given way to tablet and ultrabooks, the new Atom chips from Intel could yet give the category a small second chance at life. China PC maker Lenovo put out a teaser video for the as-yet unannounced Lenovo IdeaPad S110 and called it a “mini notebook” — a marketing rename to distance the new product from the “netbook” category. From the promo video, we could see the new mini notebook is 16mm thick, weighing 1.15kg, come with USB 3.0 as standrad, a 10.1-inch HD screen, and optional 3G connectivity, price will be around US$300. The spec and outlook of IdeaPad S110 might looks boring, but we’re hoping that the new Intel chipset will greatly improve the netbook’s performance to compete the rising tablet. If you love the look and feel of HP Mini business class netbook series (5101, 5102, 5103) but looking forward to upgrades such as a larger display and better performance, you got to own this brand new shanzhai laptop. It looks just like HP Mini business class, but features pure power of Atom D525 CPU and NVIDIA Ion 2 platform. Trust me, it’s a lot more powerful.
It’s always nice when a new knockoff product comes out with an affordable price. The Nokia Booklet 3G knockoff we introduced previously will go on sale starting from today, for just 1300 Chinese yuan (about $199). That’s insanely cheap, and we do love its specs and finishing.
This is probably the most badass Chinese laptop ever, the Laser One. It’s an Acer Aspire One knockoff, featuring cheaper price tag and larger display. Available in four brilliant colors – black, red, blue or white.
School Started! A new group of undergraduates from different areas all over China. Basically, sufficient stationeries and books should be well prepared before step into class. But, this year is completely different because those stuffs are no longer the biggest concern. Parents in China wouldn’t hesitate to spend millions of Chinese Yuan to buy their children, iPhone, DSLR Camera, iPad, MP4, netbook and some other electronics devices. The reason of parents are doing that is just because they want to avoid their children despised by the other kids. Is this necessary?
I almost forgot the costly Dell Adamo, luckily this Shanzhai version appeared in time. We have seen the Adamo knockoff before, that’s even a red model for it. This time, there’s nothing special, just branded Vayee and sporting a better finishing.
In April this year, we spotted a Knockoff HP Mini 5102 in Blue Color which looks fantastic. Another hp mini 5102 knockoff in Red unveiled in Shenzhen today, it should be another wonderful knockoff netbook.
