China’s largest PC makers Lenovo will take a step forward into the Japanese market as partnering up with Japanese NEC Co. for a “strategic alliance”. Under the terms of the deal, a new NEC Lenovo Japan Group will be formed, the joint venture will be based on Tokyo-based NEC Personal Products, which wholly owned subsidiary of NEC, with Lenovo expected to take a 51 percent stake in the partnership.
If you remember the knockoff Kinect that we previously talked about, and you would know about “Ebox”. The producer of Ebox planned to roll out the console in China during past November, however they failed to meet their expectation and eventually postponed until sometimes in this year. Today, we had our first glance at an Ebox’s game, named “Flyimal”. Enjoy after the jump.
It is interesting to see classic tech products, and today the knockoff makers bring back the old skool with a Lenovo ThinkPad X200 knockoff. Seriously, do you still remember the ThinkPad X200? It’s Lenovo’s best ultraportable laptop in year 2008, and we can say that this knockoff here looks exactly like the original, but smaller in size and less powerful.

Still have any memories on the LePad? It’s a 10.1-inch tablet from Lenovo which can transform into a netbook with its U1 dock / shell. Lenovo was going to launch and ship its LePad tablet in December, and today we finally get to see this cool tablet in operating mode. Engadget got an early hands-on with it, and we also found two photos from LePad’s Sina microblog, showing the device running Windows 7.
Probably this is the first mobile phone that consists a translucent color display. Why isn’t the one from Sony Ericsson? Because that’s only in grayscale, while Lenovo S800 supports color. The machine was found at a sport fashion event held in Beijing, which had a lot of models showing off, therefore no one are allow to have a hang of the phone yet. Yeah, phones aren’t perfect, especially smartphones. Steve Jobs has showed us that some smartphones have the same attenuation and signal loss issue that the iPhone 4 has. He’s actually right about that. Apparently, the smartphones in the Chinese market are having reception problems, such as the Meizu M8 and Lenovo LePhone…
Well, looks like someone has said NO to Chinese manufacturers. India has refused to import telecommunications equipment from Chinese companies, a “blacklist” has recently released, big names like Lenovo, Huawei and ZTE are all inside the list, making up a total of 25 companies to be banned from India. This ban will directly affect the orders of Chinese communications equipment manufacturers. For example, in 2009, India contributed about 1.4 billion U.S. dollars to Huawei’s global revenue, and India became Huawei’s most important overseas market in Asia.
Lenovo Chairman and Founder, Liu Chuanzhi, is glad that his company is leading in PC sales of the Chinese market, all thanks to Steve Jobs. According to Liu’s conversation with The Financial Times, he notes that Lenovo would be in trouble if Apple cares about the Chinese market seriously…
