Police in Shanghai raided an apartment and seized 1.1 million yuan (about US$174,892) worth of goods for refurbishing iPhones. Yes, according to Chinese media Eastday, the police found an entire assembly line that was run by a 53-year-old man who employed 14 young Chinese workers to produce and sell refurbished iPhones with fake parts.

China Mobile, the world’s largest carrier, has over 600 million wireless subscribers in China. According to Reuters reports, 10 million of these customers are iPhones’ user despite that China Mobile is not an official Apple partner. The iPhone in China isn’t currently compatible with China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA 3G network, meaning that these 10 million unofficial iPhone users are all limited to 2G data speeds. Most of the subscribers from China Mobile, are bringing unlocked, unsupported handsets to the party which has caused this abnormal circumstance …
