Emily, an American girl living in Beijing, spends much of her time bike riding through the city and snapping photos with her smartphone. She uses Instagram for her photo-sharing, which she has an audience of more than 73,000 people. Emily said gaining so many followers has changed the way she uses Instagram.

A some years ago, Instagram has introduced an updated version of its hugely popular photo sharing app, which added support for Chinese microblog service Sina Weibo. And now, it is reportedly to have 100,000 photos uploaded already. The figure is impressive since Instagram still has not do much to promote its app in China yet.

So, Facebook bought Instagram for a billion bucks. Right now, Instagram is freely accessible here in China and apparently has a small but growing user base. At the moment, Instagram seems pretty harmless to the Chinese authorities, in fact it’s just a simple photo sharing program which allows users to quickly apply different color tone to their photo.
