
Huawei is not restricting itself to the smartphone world, it’s releasing new Android tablets to challenge Apple and Google. After the announcement of the quad-core MediaPad 10 FHD that is slated for an August release, the Chinese handset company also officially unveiled its 7-inch slate, the MediaPad 7 Lite. Specifications of the device are still not available yet, but the product information page has shown us that MediaPad 7 Lite boasts features such as 1280 x 800 resolution display, Ice Cream Sandwich, 3G connectivity in a light and compact unibody design. The MediaPad 7 Lite has provided a rear camera (from the image) and it’s not sure whether the new tablet will come with an expandable memory option …

Nabi is a very odd looking tablet that designed for kids, and a knockoff maker Livall has infused the weird design into their Google TV set top box. This new set top box will be powered by a 1.2 GHz single core processor, running Android 4.0.4; other specs include 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storages, an SD memory card slot, a HDMI-out, two USB 2.0 ports, a LAN port and WiFi connectivity. There’re already many other Android 4.0 ICS TV Set Top Box available out there, and most of them are priced at around $80-$99. So this set top box should be about the same price.

TP-LINK, the well-known Chinese networking equipment company which based in Shenzhen, has introduced the new T882 Android smartphone last month. The new handset is on sale in China right now, priced at 1250 yuan (US$196). It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, powered by 1.4-gigahertz single core processor. Other features include 4.0-inch WVGA-screen, 768MB RAM and 2GB ROM, 8 megapixels camera, dual LED flash and weighted 148 grams (5.22 ounces). Lenovo has unveiled a new tablet over on its YouTube channel. The new Lenovo IdeaTab S2019 doesn’t have a full spec sheet officially confirmed, but it’s likely that it will be oriented towards the mid-range market. Most interestingly, it comes with a 9.7-inch 4:3 aspect ratio display which is similar to Apple’s iPad. Most of the Ice Cream Sandwich tablet from the mainstream brand usually provides a display at 16:9 aspect ratio. This above is the first glimpse of Android 4.0 running on the Meizu MX. Yes, it looks like Ice Cream Sandwich is in being ported to Meizu’s iconic handset by some technician guys, or developers? However, looking carefully, it’s not running the Flyme OS (Meizu’s heavily customized Android UI). Meizu CEO Jack Wong previously teased us the upcoming version of FlyMe OS which will be based on Android 4.0 ICS. Anyway, we certainly can’t wait to experience using Android 4.0 on the Meizu MX.
