Gigabyte, the Taiwanese well-known motherboard company, has revealed its new X11, a new 11-inch notebook that it is calling the world’s first all-carbon fiber notebook as well as the world’s lightest. The 11.6-inch MacBook Air weighs a mere 1,080 grams (2.38 pounds), but the X11 has it beat. It comes in 105 grams lighter at just 975 grams (2.14 pounds). Design-wise the X11 features a wedge-shaped design that goes from 3mm (0.19 inches) at the front to 16.5mm (0.65 inches) on the back …

Gigabyte, the well-known Taiwanese motherboard company, has recently updated one of its production lines over at Nan-Ping factory in Taiwan. Their new SMT machine now can fit 15 SMD components a second to a motherboard, up from 10 components per second when compared to the machines used in the other production lines. Gigabyte is also busy working on an automatic solution for adding capacitors to the motherboards.
