
Baidu said they will announce a tie-up next week for new mobile devices, which is going to be similar when Dell launched a smartphone running on Baidu’s Yi platform last December. The new smartphone will run an upgraded version of Baidu Yi — called Baidu Cloud. Besides, the executive teased details of the launch that the company will announce a few partnerships next week, and that’s probably indicating Foxconn and ZTE or perhaps some other handset makers.
Chinese PC maker Lenovo has a tremendous year in 2011. The company has recorded its highest-ever market share for worldwide shipment and in China during its third fiscal quarter for 2011/2012, setting its goal of seizing the title of world’s largest PC maker from HP this year.
We have been looking forward to see Baidu Android-based mobile OS Baidu Yi since it launched in September this year. Baidu Yi features cloud computing, something like Apple’s iOS 5 and Alibaba’s Aliyun. Today, there is rumor saying Baidu to reveal the Yi-based device this month and that’s very likely to be a Dell phone.

Just a few days ago, we took a sneak peek on Dell’s upcoming 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet, and today, we finally see the tablet got an official launch in China, just as promised. The Dell Streak 10 Pro tablet is officially announced at a press event held in Beijing, and local tech media gets the chance for some hands-on time. What’s so great about it? We have already heard that Dell’s 10-inch Honeycomb tablet will be launching in China this summer, and we are excited about it, since US may only get it next year. While we are still waiting for Dell’s official announcement on the actual date for the launch in China, it looks like the company’s new 10″ Android tablet is in the wild right now, and here we have some details about it.
Why China? This becomes a question for Dell fanboys who have been waiting for Dell’s 10-inch Android tablet to launch in the States since the tablet first showed up in CES. According to a blog post written by Amit Midha, Dell’s president of China and South Asia, the company will first launch its Streak 10 Pro tablet in China later this summer, putting other markets like the U.S. and Europe on hold in order to give developers more time to create the necessary apps. And it looks like there are more reasons behind it.
Knockoff makers finally did a great job and makes us a little bit surprise of what they did. They make the Streak 7-inch tablet a little nicer. In comparison, the clone has a faster processor, bigger battery (endure for longer), pre-installed Android 2.3 and integrated a function of making phone calls. Here is the specs…
