We always have high hopes for what Acer can do with an Ultrabook, other than making it look like Apple’s MacBook Air. So, Acer proved to us they can think different by introducing their new Ultrabook series at Computex, featuring 11.6- and 13.3-inch touchscreens. The new Ultrabooks from Acer also have the ability to lie flat on the table by folding the laptop back 180 degrees. And Acer successfully made their Ultrabook thinner than the MacBook Air. MSI, the motherboard and video card manufacturers from Taiwan, announces a unique 11.6-inch touchscreen ultrabook at COMPUTEX 2012 which we think that it looks more cool than those latest detachable model. The new Slider S20 will allow the ten-point multi-touch display slides flat to convert the ultrabook into a fully-fledged Windows 8 tablet, the body thickness measure at 19.8mm (0.77 inch) and weight 1.16kg (2.55 pounds). Other main features we got, power by Intel Chief River CULV processor, 4GB of RAM, SSD storage, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI-out and 8hrs of battery life. Computex 2012 is underway in Taiwan now, and Asus has a slew of mobile announcements. The PC maker’s latest cloud strategy, which looks good in this video but far removed from the reality. It’s an idealized future of everywhere sync and give us Star Wars’ holograms which doesn’t yet to get real in today’s tech. Asus describes A.O.C.C. as a “total solution for the ubiquitous cloud computing era” that “integrates software, services, and the latest innovations to develop blah blah blah …”. This promo just gave us too much science fiction staff …

ASUS has unveiled an absolutely crazy all-in-one PC solution, featuring an 18.4-inch screen that can detach from the PC base and run Android as well as Windows 8. The new Transformer AiO has a removable screen section that can drop into a base station for desk use. A button press flicks it into Android mode from the main Windows 8 OS. The screen itself is an LED-backlit panel with 10-point multitouch support, resolution has not disclosed yet. Asus has not shared the exact technical details during the announcement. The base station itself should run Intel’s 3rd Gen Core, and the screen section apparently works as a wireless display too while running on Windows mode …

Acer has just announced a bevy of Windows 8-enabled devices at Computex 2012 in Taipei, and they have some new all-in-one desktops which include the 23-inch Aspire 5600U and 27-inch Aspire 7600U. Both models have an extraordinary feature — tilt and swivel at all four sides, orienting the all-in-one PC in all sorts of strange ways. The display can be tilted 90 degrees from vertical to horizontal and then swivel from landscape to portrait mode.
