E-commerce giant Alibaba is planning to launch its own smartphone by the end of this month. The new Aliyun smartphone will be based on Andriod and it will be e-commerce and cloud-oriented. In association with chipset supplier Nvidia and Chinese cellphone vendor K-Touch, the phone will be equipped with Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, the appearance and design of the phone will be trendy. While we are still wondering if Apple would work together with China Mobile to develop a 4G network capable iPhone, here we have news telling us that Sony Ericsson will cooperate with China Mobile to develop mobile phones that support China’s domestic fourth-generation telecommunications technology, according to Sony Ericsson’s global president.
Remember the Lenovo S800? It is the world’s first transparent color display phone, featuring colorful images on its see-through display. It is quite innovative in the world of mobile handsets, and Chinese manufacturer Lenovo has been showing off this phenomenal handset over China since last year November. Recently, the S800 has been reportedly made available for retail in China, with a price tag of 1899 Chinese yuan (about $295). Video game consoles are illegal to sell in China since 2000. But ironically, the Wii, the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are all made-in-China. So why being banned? Because the government thought that was the best way to protect the next-gen Chinese from wasting their minds on video games, and also due to pressure from parental outcry. But Eedoo Technology, a games subsidiary of PC giant Lenovo intends to confront this ban in China.

Last Friday was the celebration of China’s communist party 90th anniversary, the Chinese phone maker also specifically made a handset for it. “Jin Changhong 1958″ is the model name, designed in dark green with golden shiny numpad, looks like the People’s Liberation Army (PLA)!
