
There are growing series of labor disputes in China. Following from last week labor strike at an electronic supplier plant in Shenzhen, here is another one. The strike involved around 400 hundreds of workers, they went on a seven-day strike strike outside of Hi-P International electronics plant to protest for compensation and layoff.
Bad news. Apple has lost a lawsuit against Chinese company Proview Technology over the iPad trademark, and Apple might have to market its best-selling tablet computer under a different name in China, or cough up $1.6 billion.
Chinese knockoff makers gets into the super-thin notebook game in a big way with the $499 AirBook. We’ve played around with it for a while now and can say that it looks very similar to Apple’s MacBook Air, and it’s very cheap. Unfortunately being cheap comes at a price.

The techno-sweatshops of Shenzhen have never seen an Apple design they weren’t willing to ineptly rip off, but this unibody MacBook Air knock-off is a totally different thing, it even rip off Apple’s MacBook Air unibody enclosure, for under half the price of the real thing.

Hisense, the well-known Chinese electric appliance company, has introduced a new tablet called the I’TV for China market. It is the capital ‘I’, not small ‘i’, so don’t get this confused with the Apple rumor ‘iTV’ for next year. Hisense calls their I’TV a personalized smart TV device, the idea is that user can use the tablet primarily as a mobile television screen, and at the same time it can also run Andriod apps. We have seen smartphones and tablets offering TV in the past, but this is the world’s first portable TV which also functions as a tablet …
Previously, we’ve reported that the iPhone 4S has passed all tests from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the network access certificate should be forthcoming. Today, China Unicom told the local media that the company is prepared to introduce the iPhone 4S and is only waiting for its network access certificate from authorities.

Apple’s long-running partnership with China Unicom will end in 2012, and it’s time for Apple to look for a new mobile operator to work with in the country. Recently, a series of iPhone 4S posters has been put up in China Telecom’s local stores, so, does this mean China Telecom is about to sell the iPhone 4S? One more pic after the break.
We just love to see Chinese workers taking a stand against long hours of working and poor working conditions. Recently, workers at a factory in southern China that supplies parts to Apple and IBM, including keyboards, went on strike with complaints of grueling overtime requirements.
