Placing below the top 50 on Fortune’s Global 500 list may be every company’s dream, and Apple this year count at No. 55, rising from number 111 last year. Apple’s main supplier, Taiwanese company Hon Hai (aka Foxconn), was proudly ranked at 43rd. Apple’s profits grew by almost $12 billion in a year that saw the death of co-founder Steve Jobs and Tim Cook taking the reins as CEO. While Foxconn boasting total revenues of $117.5 billion. Did Tim Cook Pay $60 Million For iPad Trademark Settlement From His Own Pocket?

Proview’s CEO and the company’s legal advisor hinted Apple’s CEO Tim Cook may had paid the $60 million out of his own pocket for settlement of the iPad trademark dispute, and pointed out the amount of compensation was very close to the $75 million dividends that Cook turned down in May.

After Apple settled the “iPad” trademark dispute with Proview, the tech giant is facing another trademark lawsuit from a Chinese household chemical company called “Jiangsu Xuebao“. This Chinese company has resigstered the trademark of the Chinese translation of “Snow Leopard”“Xuebao (雪豹)” for electrical equipment production in 2000 (the same year that Proview registered the iPad trademark), and they claimed Apple’s Mac OS X “Snow Leopard” has violated the trademark of “Xuebao (雪豹)”.

Apple Falls Out of Top Five in China’s 3G Smartphone Market

With company after company going after Apple, perhaps the only way to settle the score is how well you are doing in the China market that is projected to become the largest smartphone market in the world in 2012. So, nearly one in six dollars of Apple’s revenue coming from China, however, China-based Sino Market Research recently did a report indicating that Samsung takes the number one spot in China’s 3G smartphone market, while Apple dropped out of the top five, down to sixth in rankings.
