Five seconds, just five seconds, all the iPhones are gone! Like what we have reported previously, the sales of iPhone 4S is messing up in Hong Kong. No kidding at all! It is almost impossible to purchase an iPhone 4S over here, because all the iPhones go straight into scalpers’ stock inventory. Check out the inside story after the break.
As 2011 grows closer to conclusion, Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics contract manufacturer which assembles products for Apple, Sony and Nokia, has big plans for 2012. The company aims to build more plants in inland regions to reduce labor costs, and most interestingly, 300,000 robots will be added to the assembly line but will not lay-off any workers according to comments made by founder and chairman Terry Gou.
Remember we previously talked about how Apple online store pre-order system messed up when iPhone 4S on sale in Hong Kong. So did you know how scalpers order iPhone so quickly? They don’t have incredibly fast typing speed to insert their personal details and credit numbers actually, but rather using an automated booking program.
China has become an increasingly important part of Apple’s empire, in fact, China is the second largest market for downloads in Apple’s App Store. That’s great, and today it looks like the company has taken one more BIG step to growing that even more: the company is now accepting payments in Chinese Yuan on its App Store, in order to make everything easier for customers in its fastest growing market to get their hands on apps.
While Apple is making lots of money from the sales of their iPhone, they are also losing money from their AppStore. Stats indicated some of the iOS developers reach up to 88% of bad debt. These developers just look good on the outside, and in fact, they did not earn much from us, some even losing money. Why the bad debt problem is so serious? Why is China in particular? Two months ago, some China environmental protection groups have accused Apple for polluting the country. According to these groups, as many as 27 suspected suppliers have been accused of releasing pollution and carcinogens. Apple was completely ignoring the issue, with no interest in directing its suppliers to lessen pollution being caused by them. Due to the rising of complaints from the society, Apple finally sat down to talk it out with its critics. So far the company has admitted that they did not put sufficient attention to the environmental protection in China …

Over three thousand people gathered outside the Hong Kong Apple store for the launch of the iPhone 4S in Hong Kong, but Apple only allow 1,250 people to line up. An analyst from Sterne Agee cites industry sources who claim that China Mobile is demanding a slice of the revenue Apple generates from the App Store in exchange for bringing the iPhone to its network. As one might expect, Apple has balked at the idea, effectively putting the Chinese telecommunication company at a deadlock. Apple has been in discussions with China Mobile for years for bringing iPhone to the Chinese market. Pre-ordering for the iPhone 4S got underway a few days ago in Hong Kong, and the process hasn’t been entirely smooth. Seriously, it was a messy one. First, Apple “quietly” pushed the pre-ordering from the traditional midnight to morning. Secondly, people were allowed to places TEN (10!!!) iPhone 4S on each order. Last but not least, REAL iPhone users are pissed that they cannot place an order for a 4S, thanks to those greedy resellers and gray market dealers.
