In 2010, Apple announced a plan of opening 25 stores in China by the end of 2012. Today, Apple has five retail stores in China, two in Beijing, three in Shanghai, but none in South China region where major cities such as Shenzhen and Chengdu are located. Since there are always huge crowds gathering outside the China Apple stores, Apple definitely need more points of sale in the country to disperse the crowds (especially scalpers). After running through our contacts, we have found several sites in South China region that Apple real estate is bargaining for or has signed for. Interested? Read on ~

UPDATE: Apple is very pissed with this fake Apple store.
We know the “legendary” fake Apple store in Kunming is trying their best to look similar to an Apple Store, and at the same time, they are trying to pass themselves off as an Apple Store. Recently, we see something different at the store. They have changed their store name to “Smart Store”. The glowing Apple logo is still there, but other fake Apple stores in Kunming have pulled down the Apple logo. So, some fake Apple stores are still not afraid of Apple’s legal team, while some are trying to stay low key. Interesting. More shots after the break! Updated, more pics, and there’s one called “iParty”.

We managed to get an inside story of one of these fake Apple stores, and we are shocked when we hear that the owner was originally an Apple authorized reseller.
