Since the iPad is confirmed to hit China, additional bits of information on China availability for iPhone 4 are beginning to trickle out. Rumors are now spinning that China Unicom will announce the iPhone 4 on September 15, and launch on September 20. There will be a non-contract offer at the Beijing and Shanghai Apple retail stores, a 16GB iPhone 4 would be 4,880 yuan (about $720) , and 5,660 yuan ($837) for 32GB model.
The Apple Store provides free phone calls on their demo iPhones for customers to experience the great product, but apparently this does not work well in Shanghai’s Apple Store. The Chinese customers are always visiting the Apple Store to make international calls with the demo iPhones, and they are taking this for granted. So, this shameful behavior had turned the Shanghai Apple Store into a public telephone booth…
One Apple retail store is definitely not enough in a big city of China. We have the very first in Beijing, and another one at Shanghai. At this moment, Apple is going to open one more store at each of these two cities. The new stores are covered with black curtain showing a big Apple logo and a web address, www.apple.com/cn. Excited?
Maybe you got an iPhone 4 already, but there are plenty of people in Hong Kong failed to get one, even though they have the money to buy it. You would not believe this, some customers do ordered the iPhone 4 from the Apple Online Store (HK), but it took a decade of time to receive the delivery. There’s even a specialty retailer of consumer electronics in HK accepting thousands of orders while they have only hundreds of stocks. The locals are extremely unhappy for this, since they need to pay more than the official price to purchase from these retailers, and buying one is not a matter of “first come first serve”, but of randomly selected. Some customers even called the cops.
Hooray! The magical and revolutionary product is finally here, in Hong Kong! We knew that the iPad is ready to hit nine more countries today, and HK’s getting the party started early (by 12 hours) with a sizable crowd waiting outside every Apple reseller stores. We decided to land at Studio A, since it’s the biggest and nicest one in town. We heard that each reseller has prepared hundreds of iPads (up to 500), and guess what, all of the iPads are sold out in just a few hours, including all accessories! This is damn crazy. I’m so excited to let you see what’s going on right here, with a wholesome of photos and videos!
Shanghai has an Apple Retail Store, so what? There’s no iPhone 4 in there, not even an iPad. You are in Shanghai and can’t wait to get one? Just proceed to the gray market, but please prepare at least $12,000 Chinese yuan (about $1770), if you are buying an unlocked iPhone 4…
It’s almost a week since the Shanghai Apple Store opened to large crowds in China. Hundreds of Apple fans were waiting overnight to be the first in the store, not to be the first to purchase Apple’s new iProducts such as the iPhone 4 and iPad. The store is the biggest attraction in the city, and we would love to bring you the interesting stuff happening in there, from day one till now.
Apple offers an umbrella to you when rain starts to fall, in today’s launch of the new retail store in Shanghai. Everyone gets one for free from the security guards, but you need to return it when you step in the store… And guess what? There’s a way to buy it.
Apple Chinese fanboys are extremely excited with the first Apple store opening in Shanghai, so do I. You would not believe how crazy the Chinese are, there were 300 people queuing up for the store throughout the night, with their precious iProducts accompanying them… What’s more, someone even called up the McDonalds delivery to solve his hunger while waiting in line… We have got lots of photos for you to see what’s actually going on here.
UPDATE: With Videos!
Here’s the free t-shirt from the Shanghai Apple store in today’s press preview. This t-shirt is designed uniquely for the Shanghai store but we think it’s not attractive enough other than the gimmick statement printed on the shirt in the pic above…
