While we are still wondering if Apple would work together with China Mobile to develop a 4G network capable iPhone, here we have news telling us that Sony Ericsson will cooperate with China Mobile to develop mobile phones that support China’s domestic fourth-generation telecommunications technology, according to Sony Ericsson’s global president.
I don’t consider myself an Android fanboy but I really like Android’s little green robot mascot. It is pretty cute, and I have been dreaming to see a real life Android robot in action. Maybe a Taiwanese guy heard my words, and he made an Android robot out of a trash can. It’s green in color, with a body shape like R2-D2, LED eyes like Wall-E, and movable “arms” and “legs” like Transformers. Baidu, the most authority search engine in China, has recently released a detail report on China mobile phone industry. The research data is base on the first quarter of this year and it tells you what the Chinese consumers like about their cellphones and how they are using it. The data showed some very interesting information, the Chinese still favour on Nokia handsets, they like their phones to be in white color, and the most interested software is instant messaging applications. Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio recently has become a spokesman for a Chinese mobile company. The Chinese mobile maker OPPO, is a manufacturer of digital devices including MP3 and BluRay players. They have made a few cellphones featuring music playback which were received well enough to make them try out an Android smartphone. According to reports, Leonardo DiCaprio was paid a staggering $5 million (not RMB) to feature in the commercials. The ad campaign is highly influenced by the style and sub-plot of the movie Inception, as Leonardo DiCaprio’s character travels to Paris on a quest to find a mysterious woman with the new smartphone. Smartphones are getting more popular in China, so which brand and model do the Chinese people love to use for web browsing? Shut up and sit down, the planet’s first Android 3.2 tablet is here. Huawei has finally introduced a 7-inch Honeycomb tablet over in Singapore’s CommunicAsia conference. What’s so special with Honeycomb 3.2? Well, Huawei tells us that 3.2 is essentially the same as 3.1, but specifically tailored to 7-inch tablets as opposed to 10-inch. Great, and the specs? Awesome. The MediaPad is 10.5mm (0.41-inch) thick, compared to Samsung’s original Galaxy Tab (7-inch) which is 11.9mm (0.47-inch) thick. It weighs in at 390g (0.86 pounds), sports a 217 pixels-per-inch IPS capacitive touchpanel, 8GB of internal storage, GPS, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera (with autofocus and HD video recording), 802.11n Wi-Fi, HSPA+ (14.4Mbps) 3G support, Bluetooth module, HDMI output, microSD card slot, a 4100mAh battery good for around six hours of life and a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU from Qualcomm which supports full 1080p playback. Out of a surprise, the Motorola Droid 3 is now official in China, where it’s being called the Milestone 3 (the European and Asian name for the Droid series.) The Gingerbread (Android 2.3) phone first got previewed last week where it landed in the hands of Chinese website xda.cn. Then, the new XT883 model has just been made official by Motorola, today at China Telecom’s CDMA Summit and 2011 e-Surfing 3G Handset Trade Fair in Guangzhou. We were wondering, why Motorola chooses China as the first place to launch the Droid 3? Well, according to the director of the China Telecom Device Management Center, the launch of Droid 3 in China represents a genuine milestone for China Telecom’s partnership with Motorola.
