Chinese lanterns are decorations we often see at Mid-Autumn festival in China and Hong Kong. If you are an Apple fanboy living in HK, you can purchase this white iPhone 4 paper lantern to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival with other Apple fans.
A father and son team from Hong Kong created this amazing iPhone 4 Chinese lantern. It looks pretty good, but it’s not cheap. Even though it’s handmade with paper and wire, it consists of several detail parts which makes the whole thing being priced at $800-1000 HKD (about $116). It will take a day to complete, and there’s a high demand for it at HK. Here are some other interesting designs:

Girl in Bikini, takes a day to complete. $650 HKD (about $84).

Old school camera, takes 2 days to complete. $1300 HKD ($167).

Massage chair, lots of customers are ordering this recently. $1200 HKD ($154).
24-year-old Sam has been making paper lanterns for six years. In order to attract young customers to purchase these traditional Chinese lanterns, Sam helps his dad to make creative designs like iPhone and PSP, and these products are promoted through Facebook, while orders are accepted through email. Customers can send all types of pictures to Sam and he will try his best to complete the requests. We are really surprised that they have earned up to $100,000 HKD (about $13,000) for the Mid-Autumn festival period during September.

Sam often help his Dad to make the Chinese lantern decorations for traditional festivals at Hong Kong.

The above 8-meter-tall giant paper lantern took Sam about 11 hours to complete it.
Sam is really professional on making these paper lanterns. It first took him two years of time to learn the basic skills, and with his father’s help, he mastered the advance skills later.
Maybe I could ask this father and son team to help me to make a Steve Jobs paper lantern!
