Japanese Held Anti-China Protest To Show Disagreement

A large-scale of protest demonstrators gathered in Tokyo on the 2nd Oct against China’s response to the collision between a Chinese captain’s ship and Japanese coastguards in the disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu islands area on 7th September. The picture can show us clearly how Japanese are not happy with China. More about the incident after the break…

A Chinese fisherman, captain Zhan Qixiong, was arrested by the Japanese coastguards at Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands, which both countries claim as their own sovereign territory. That Chinese had been detained by the Japanese, and he was released now. But afterwards, China demanded for an apology and compensation from Japan, but it had been quickly rejected.

An official statement from China’s Foreign Ministry recounted, that was “unlawful and invalid for Japan to detain, investigate or take any form of judicial measures against the Chinese fishermen and trawler.” However, Japan claimed China’s demand was “Unacceptable”, and even re-demanding China compensate for the damage caused to the Japanese patrol boats after Zhan’s collision, meanwhile, ordered two Chinese fishery patrol boats to move away from their disputed area. In addition, a large amount of oil are under the Diaoyu Island, therefore, both nation will want this piece of area, and this might be an important factors of aggressiveness of China and Japan.

Previously, after China demanded to Japan was refused, four Japanese citizens were suspected had been entering a restricted military zone in China. Three of them were released last week, however, the fourth still detained. Those four Japanese are employees from a Fujita Corp., allegedly they were illegally videotaping military targets while doing a project of dispose of chemical weapons abandoned by the Japanese military at the end of World War Two.

Generally, this is the conflict between China and Japan and the cause of the protest held in Japan (Tokyo).

The figure on the ground is the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Wen Jiabao. Will the Chinese citizen revenge on this?
