Here Comes the Microsoft Kin Knockoff

Do you remember Microsoft’s Kin phone? It is dead just six weeks after launch, and now we have a knockoff for it. It’s a Kin One clone, and it’s called Haina G22 or X5-01.

This Kin One knockoff is a squircle-shaped slider that literally fits in the palm of your hand, just like the original. It’s got the crappy specs- a tinyish 2.2 inches QVGA display, dual SIM dual standby, FM radio, Bluetooth, micro-USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, a 1.3-megapixel main camera with flash and a 0.3-megapixel front camera. It’s powered by a 108Mhz MT6253 chip and supports GSM only. With its 1050mAh battery, we think it has an acceptable battery life.

It’s definitely not a social phone like the original Microsoft Kin, and it’s still in the works. It will be available in 4 colors- black, red, pink, blue. Unfortunately, there’s no words about the price.
