iPhone 4 Launches in China Today! (with videos)

Finally, the wait is over. The official Chinese iPhone 4 launch this morning drawn thousands of Chinese Apple fans to the Apple retail stores at Beijing and Shanghai. Since the purchasing of the iPhone 4 does not require customers to sign a two-year contract, everybody takes their chance to grab one from the Apple stores. Here we have a whole batch of photos and videos of the amazing crowds.

iPhone 4 launch in China

The launch of the iPhone 4 in China appears to have attracted more customers than Apple’s release of its previous iPhone in the country. More than 1,000 people lined up outside the Apple retail stores in Beijing, including the new store at Xidan Joy City shopping mall. Some customers waited as long as two days to get their hands on one of the phones, but each customer could only purchase two units of iPhone 4.

The launch starts at 8 am, and there’s a thousand people already waiting in line at the Apple flagship store in Beijing.

Same for the second Apple Store in Beijing.

These guys are having their breakfast before invading the Apple store…

They are the first four customers to queue up at Beijing flagship store.

Come on! Prepare your money!

He’s the first customer to purchase the iPhone 4 and walk out the store after the launch.

Everyone is waiting patiently. Only 20 people could get into the store every round.

Securities are everywhere, just in case something ridiculous happens…

The guy with the blue blanket covered around his body is the first person to wait in line at the new Apple store in Beijing. Looks pretty cold at there…

He’s brought along his HP mini 2140 netbook instead of a MacBook or iPad. Worldwide Apple fans, would you do the same thing as him?

Yeah, his queue number, the first!

The Apple store employees are doing last-minute preparation.

And the doors open! Everyone is cheering and clapping!

And giving hugs!

Hi-five!

Hooray!

Customers can try the FaceTime feature on the iPhones.

You still need to queue up in the store.

This is AWESOME!

Black bumpers are available for purchase!

Woah, make sure those units are safe…

For first time users, you can look for one-on-one guidance.

Or the genius bar.

I got the iPhone 4! And I’m heading back home RIGHT NOW!

Another happy guy at Shanghai.

This guy here got his iPhone 4 from China Unicom store. He’s the first customer and he got a special gift…

He got a certificate of “The first person to purchase iPhone 4″ from China Unicom… WTF…

He’s not really excited…

Can I bring that home?

Today’s iPhone 4 launch in China is incredible, the Chinese Apple fans waited in line with a few draped blankets around their bodies as others played cards or took photos of the large crowd with their cell phones. But those in line said it was well worth it. Apple has priced its iPhone 4 without a contract at 4,999 yuan ($US744) for the 16GB model and 5,999 yuan (US$893) for the 32GB model. Customers could only get off-contract prices at the Apple retail stores, China Unicom and other authorized resellers are only offering the phones with 2-year contract. So, looking at the crowd of people outside the Apple stores, Apple will open a third Beijing store this fall.
