Apple Peel 520 On Sale This Month at China

Want Apple Peel 520? Your wait may soon be over. We’ve been checking about the mighty Apple Peel 520 for more than a month now, and it appears that the innovator of the device promises to launch it on September 20. We believe this is true since we found the retail version in the wild right now, showing a few minor changes over the one we have seen at first.

Here’s the flashback. Apple Peel 520 is a case that fits around the outside of iPod Touch, and it turns an iPod touch into an iPhone. It contains a SIM card slot and users will have to install special software to make / receive calls and texts. So, jailbreak is needed for the iPod touch before using the Apple Peel. And you get 5 hours of talk time and 120 hours of standby juice with it.

The Apple Peel 520 first appeared as a black silicon case with a few technical glitches, and now, the retail version is built in hard plastic and has a better overall design and finish. According to the inventor of the device, the technical glitches are now fixed and the leaked shots below are showing the retail version of the Apple Peel.

The retail version will be on sale for $388 yuan (about $57), available in three colors — black, white or red. It will be first shipped to customers who ordered it earlier, and it will also go on sale at the gadget malls in China. In the meantime, there are lots of companies trying to work together with Chinese developer Yosion to bring the Apple Peel 520 to different countries. What’s more, there are hundreds of customers ordering it through Chinese online store Taobao, so we think it’s not so easy to get one when it’s launched. One more thing, the coming retail version will not work for the new iPod Touch, so this offer is only for previous generations. Happy?
