The Latest 7-inch iPad Wannabe

7-inch iPad knockoff

As no-one knows when the rumored 7-inch iPad is actually launching, it might be worth to have a look on this 7-inch Android tablet which looks like a minimized iPad. Available now, for $900 Chinese yuan (about $132).

We have seen several iPad knockoffs previously, ranging from 7-inch to 10-inch sizes, and all of them are based on Android OS. This one we seeing here comes with Android 2.1, and powered by Telechips TCC8900 720Mhz processor. We think it’s a rather conventional looking tablet with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen (800 X 480), 2GB of built-in storage, 256MB of RAM, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, built-in mic, accelerometer, micro SD card slot (support up to 32GB), two mini USB ports, and a built-in 1600mAh battery.

On the packaging box, it says the device supports 3G, Wi-FI, HDMI, 1080p and 3D game. Well, the 3G, HDMI and 1080p features are bullshit.

In the box, you get the main device, a charger, a mini USB to USB cable, and earphones. No Apple stickers for you, not even an Android sticker…

Yup, you can surf the web on this device, but how about its battery life? According to the testing done by Shanzhaiben.com, this 7-inch wannabe is able to survive for up to 4 hours with the Wi-Fi switched on while watching videos. Looks not really bad, but we still care about the software in it, is it fast or laggy? We will wait for more testing results from the guys at Shanzhaiben.com.
