“Ebox”, Perhaps is the Knockoff Kinect? (with videos)

Unfortunately, the mainland China will not have Microsoft’s Kinect on sale in the market because of the policy set by Chinese government. However, there will be a similar machine revealed called the “ebox” which is a controller-free gaming console from “Beijing eedoo”. It is likely to have about 30 motion control games as the bonus with the gaming console, and expected to be released in late 2011.

Ebox will be announced in November 2010 by Beijing eedoo, which is co-founded by Lenovo, Legend Holdings and Legend Capital. It is also said that 16 professional teams, some of them have developed games for Xbox 360 and Wii, from 8 countries will take part in the development of eBox’s games. For now, there have been more than one hundred games. So, is this a good news or bad news? Doubt it.

Chinese has no respect of intellectual property. It’s OK to compete by create own innovated technology and apply own creative name. Not copying and stealing everything with simple little twist. I never like Microsoft nor any big corporation. However, I hate more thieves who steal intellectual properties and emulated it to your face. Thing such as iphone to hiphone, sciphone etc. The darn things almost look alike. Now xBox as eBox. This is disgusting and very uncool. Let’s boycott buy anything that from China until Chinese govt set a better rule on stealing.

indeed, we should boycott for that case. that is not very uncool making fake products and selling on Ebay and CL. Please buy from retails store.

I agree with both. But do you believe that not buying on ebay from china would solve this? This is $ony’s, Micro$oft’s, N0kia’s and many more’s fault. They are the one’s who stop manufacturing in their countries and move their production to china so they can save more. Who knows how to solve this problem.

No respect of intellectual property? are you serious? I might not like China, but let’s be serious for a moment. Does a country has the right to has their own intellectual properties laws?? is it “stealing” to give aids to a non competitive agriculture industry as you do in USA (and we do in Europe)? can you call this “stealing” when Japaneses, USA, and european companies made their products in China?

I am not saying you don’t have the right to try to profit as much as possible from your invention, but countries also have the right to apply their own laws as they think is better for their country interests.
