We previously reported the magical adapter case, which could transform an iPod touch into iPhone, and we found out that it’s available for sale on Taobao, but you can only pre-order for one now, by giving a deposit of $100 Chinese yuan (about $14).

For around $300 – $500 Chinese Yuan (about $43 – 70), you can purchase this adapter to fit your iPod touch on it, and make calls with it. The launch date of Apple Peel 520 is uncertain, and we are trying to get one to have a full review on it. Please stay tuned.

    I have now got my Apple Peel 520 up and running on my 1G iPod. I am very satisfied with the result.

    I had a problem getting the battery charged with old iPod cable. I got a new cable and I am now able to charge both batteries simultaneously. My thanks to Chris from MIC Gadget for all his help.

    The additional battery if great. It is an unexpected advantage.

    The software still needs some updating. For those who want GPRS, this is not working yet. This is not a problem for me as I plan to use only WiFi for my data. This will keep my network costs down.

    With extended battery and the GSM sim card, the Apple Peel 520 has given new life to my old iPod 1G. I really could not ask for more.
