iPad Available in Hong Kong Today!!!

Hooray! The magical and revolutionary product is finally here, in Hong Kong! We knew that the iPad is ready to hit nine more countries today, and HK’s getting the party started early (by 12 hours) with a sizable crowd waiting outside every Apple reseller stores. We decided to land at Studio A, since it’s the biggest and nicest one in town. We heard that each reseller has prepared hundreds of iPads (up to 500), and guess what, all of the iPads are sold out in just a few hours, including all accessories! This is damn crazy. I’m so excited to let you see what’s going on right here, with a wholesome of photos and videos!

I’m there at 9:15am, which is a bit late, since the store opens at 10am to all customers who are waiting in line. The line is insane, latecomers need to wait at the back stairs beside the store, and it’s very stuffy in there. Luckily, Studio A gives you a free bottle of water to cool you down, and it’s telling you to wait patiently…

At 10:00AM, there’s no count down and Studio A just open its doors to welcome the first batch of overnight (or early) campers, and the employees only allow 10-20 people to walk in the store per round. People who are waiting in line at the back could only put a few steps forward every 15 minutes, including me.

Inside the store, most of the customers just do a little checking on the iPad when purchasing, they just pay the money, get the iPad and leave. I don’t think there’s an activation process for the 3G models. Well, you can take a look at the first iPad owner at here,

He didn’t accept any interviews and seemed to be rushing back home, to enjoy his new toy.

Surprisingly, only 3 iPads are displayed for customers to try out the device, and there’s a lot of accessories in the store, such as the beautiful cases, screen protectors…

There’s still a lot of people waiting in line when I’m leaving, that’s about 1pm.

In the queue, there are some people who are from the Chinese mainland, having an iPad already but still coming over to buy for friends or the gray market. I saw one carrying 20 iPads in four shopping bags, not sure how did he do it since Studio A only allows a person to purchase a maximum of 4 iPads today…
