Foxconn Increase Employees’ Wages Again

We believe Foxconn has really started to treat their workers like angels. Foxconn just announced they are offering a second time pay rise to their production line workers in Shenzhen, a performance-based monthly increase of 66 per cent from $1,200RMB (US$175). The basic monthly-salary at Foxconn’s Shenzhen plants, which make iPhones and other popular gadgets, was then about $900RMB (US$131). The company’s first pay rise was announced on June 2nd, which were given an increase of 33%. For now, it will be elevated to $2,000 RMB (US$292) as early as October 1st.

New employees under a three-month probation will first get a monthly salary of $1,200RMB. If they pass the probation, they will be eligible for the increase to $2,000RMB. Foxconn also said it would give further upward adjustments to salaries for senior workers, including production line leaders and supervisors, before August 1st.

We are keeping on to have good news on Foxconn, their employees should be happily dancing now, instead of jumping down from the roof. We believe this second wages increase should be related to the rumor on Apple’s subsidies. Well, no matter how it turns out, Foxconn’s worker can now celebrate with the rest of the world on today’s latest iProduct announcement.
