Knockoff Souvenirs Selling in Shanghai Expo (Video)

Knockoff products are lying everywhere on the lands of China, and surprisingly, you can get them in Shanghai World Expo too. Apparently, there are some guys bringing bags of knockoff Expo souvenirs into the expo garden and sell them for 5 times cheaper than the originals. What’s more, they claimed that their products are authorized and they have a “military secret” to get cheap expo tickets to enter the Shanghai Expo… And start their business in the expo garden… I can’t believe this until I watched the video:

This is very ridiculous. From the video, a Taiwan news reporter gets his attempt to see how these people sell their knockoff expo souvenirs, and this reporter had an interesting conversation with one of the guys.

Seller: The original sells for $26-28 Chinese Yuan.

Reporter: $26-28? So how much are you selling for these?

Seller: $5.

Reporter: $5 !? How come there’s such a big difference? Do these products have any quality problems?

Seller: No.

Reporter: Are you sure these products are authorized?

Seller: Please look at the stuff.

Reporter: I will compare later. If there’s any difference, I want a refund. I’m telling you, don’t run. If there’s any difference, I want a refund from you.

Seller: Refund, refund, refund.

And…

Reporter: How do you come in?

Seller: I bought an admission ticket to come in.

Reporter: Can you earn back what you spent on your ticket? It cost $160.

Seller: Our tickets are very cheap.

Reporter: You guys’ tickets are cheap? How cheap it is?

Seller: I can’t tell you for this. It’s “military secret”.

Reporter: Military secret?? This… This ticket even has military secret?

Well, I’m speechless. These knockoff Haibao keychains are packed nicely and there’s even a Shanghai Expo logo printed on the packaging. While the official souvenir store is still open to the public, these guys are selling the same products with a much lower price. These sellers claimed that their products are made from the outside world, and they don’t think they would be arrested for selling these stuff. However, if they see reporters appeared, they will pack up their stuff and sell later.

On the left, it’s the knockoff. On the right, it’s the real one.

You better check out for these knockoff souvenirs if you have a chance to go there.
