
I have been staying at Hong Kong since I was 12, and I would like to bring you snaps throughout my week. Hopefully this should give you more of a feeling of what typical life is like in Hong Kong.
First Photo – Starting off with Sham Shui Po at noon, I was looking out for lunch and I saw some guys sorting out boxes of computers on the road. Do you see this at your location before?

I often see this guy doing performance on the streets, he can really keep still for a couple of hours.

Japanese Magazines. All of them are not cheap at here.

This was my first time seeing Hello Kitty hooks by 3M.

While looking for some DVDs to rent, this shop provides Japanese DVDs and video tapes too.

Vietnamese Beef Noodle for lunch.

Japanese instant noodles at supermarket. Did any of you guys had this before?

Dinner Time! Browsing through the sushi menu…
Sushi dinner. Almost as tasty as the ones at Japan.



Went to a ramen place for another round of dinner. Just beside the sushi place.

I go for some traditional grub instead. I have Chilled Udon which is kinda like shredded seaweed which rests on top of some thick noodles. It’s only HKD$15.

Ordered a deep-fried eggplant for only HK$8.

I have one last dish to end my dinner, the Oden. It’s a Japan’s winter dish which consist of several ingredients. Not cheap to eat this at Hong Kong, it cost HK$18.

Free newspapers are available in train stations every day.
Sometimes you have to queue up to take it..

I was looking out for breakfast while tiles of newspapers appeared in front of me again.

It’s about 9am. Having my breakfast. A freshly baked egg-tart.
The Pineapple Bun. Cost HKD $4. Sweet and crunchy.

Found a shoes maker store which can fix my old shoes. Gonna visit it next time at noon.

Rare to see a 80’s food menu introducing the (Tortoise) Herb Jelly.

Here I am at the marketplace where groceries are sold. Love to explore around to check out the prices.

Vegetables you see here are imported from China, and you will get free onions if you buy more.

The meat market. Beef is my favorite among all.

Without getting affected with the Swine influenza virus, we are still selling pork here.
The fish market. My Mum often steam fish for dinner with soy sauce and ginger.

Here’s a pawn shop where you can bring your personal stuff to pawn for a loan. I was thinking to bring my 7-inch Eee PC to there for getting rid of it.

Heard that this is a good Shanghai & Sichuan dining place at Central, but I have never had a chance to try since I’m not interested on those spicy food from Sichuan.

Took these shots while I’m searching for some good food to settle my lunch.

Grilled Chicken noodles for lunch. Strongly recommended by lots of magazines and TV shows. Cost HKD $39 (about $5).

Just trying out the black & white film mode on my LX3 in the restaurant.


This is how the restaurant looked like in the 80s, now they just used it for decoration.

I really love the Olympus EP-1’s stylish design, but the focus speed does not meet my demand, so I prefer Panasonic’s GF1.
I love to see the ads on the public buses here since they bring useful information for the citizens.

I like going to Chinese tea-houses because I like Cantonese-style dim sum and dishes. This ‘Steamed Pork Dumpling with Pork Liver’ is my all-time favorite.

The Central Pier. It was being renovated and still looked classical as always. I was going to take ferry from here to Kowloon.

Deep Fried Cuttle Fish Balls with Seaweed Noodle for dinner. Often eat this since it’s cheap and tasty. Recommended on Japanese magazines.
