China Government Requests Censorship On Foxconn News

Foxconn

According to one of the Hong Kong English newspaper report, the Chinese Government and authorities request all press media in China to use the official news from Xinhua when they report Foxconn suicide case. All news website have to remove all special reports on Foxconn and major forums are requested to delete related posts, and no new post is allowed to go public. So at the moment, major press media in China are only allowed to republish the news from three sources, Xinhua News Agency which is owned by the Government, the Government Press Release and Foxconn’s own statement.

It seems that the Foxconn News has been over-boiled, but to apply censorship on the press won’t help either. The public will think that the Chinese Government is helping Foxconn to cover up. The Chinese Government is expertise on internet censorship, but they can’t stop other international media to report the issue, especially news from Hong Kong and Taiwan. As more censorship is applied to Foxconn news, more rumors will just fly-off. We like to see the truth behind the Foxconn incident, not just turning the whole issue to political affairs.

That's completely bull. Peoples Republic of China is still operating as a communist government. Where is freedom of speech? People have a right to know whats really going on. Censorship is just another way of saying were still communist here hiding behind a republic mask.

If that's true, Chinese Gov't might just fail to grab an opportunity of the life time to win it's citizen over as propaganda that gov't is on their side instead of irresponsible corporations who care nothing but profits.
