Here we have found more photos from Foxconn’s factory which were taken by the reporters of Southern Weekly. Surprisingly, the undercover reporter, Liu Zhiyi, also took some shots with his mobile phone too. From these pics, we get a clearer look on the pathetic life of the workers in the factory.
The first pic you seeing in this post is how the female workers go through their tests before getting employed. According to Southern Weekly, the tests papers are about basic Mathematics and English vocabulary. The test is just a part of the procedure of employing workers — if the worker gets 20 marks out of 100, she still have the chance of getting hired.
The above pic is a shot taken by the undercover reporter. The words are actually a foul language of “I FU*K YOUR MOTHER” in Chinese written on a chair. It’s 100 percent real taken by Liu Zhiyi.
For this pic, it’s a flower planted in a water bottle by the Foxconn workers. They somehow cut the water bottle into half, put egg shells or plain water into it, and they start to plant their flowers. This made them to be happy.
According to Liu Zhiyi, this was taken when the workers were having a fight. They were in a mess and police arrived to stop them.
These keys belong to the female workers’ dormitories. The workers need to borrow the keys to access their rooms while putting down their ID cards in the key room. Then, one needs to return the key within ten minutes so she can retrieve her ID card.
These workers are responsible for morning shrift and they would get off work at night. They need to get pass through the exit gates and these gates got systems to record the workers’ attendance. Security guards are required to stand by at the gates to carry out security check on the workers.
The unemployed have long queue outside the factory to get jobs.
