Foxconn Being Investigated over Bribery Claims in China

Foxconn is the world’s largest original device manufacturer, and it known most famously for building iPhones and iPads for Apple. But now the Taiwanese company is the subject of a bribery probe in China. Chinese authorities are investigating the alleged bribery of supply chain companies by Foxconn employees. It is unclear how many Foxconn employees are involved in the alleged scheme. Foxconn said that the integrity of their employees is something they take very seriously, and any employees found guilty of any illegal actions will be prosecuted to the law. Well, foreign companies doing business in China must navigate a business culture in which bribery is rife, finding ways to remove obstacles to expand in the world’s second-largest economy without running afoul of local or home-country laws. Foxconn now face an uphill battle in preventing commercial bribery.
