MixC city’s store will be the first Apple Store in Chengdu, it’s just as special as the one in Shenzhen because it’s the site of Apple’s partner manufacturing facilities. The new store will have up to two levels, similar to the one in Shenzhen, but not as big as the Pudong Apple Store or the one at Nanjing Road in Shanghai. Apple will rent the place in MixC city for around 4 years, and it will have large number of employees, where some are moving from Pudong’s store to help out for the Christmas season. MixCity is a 2.5 million square foot complex for shopping in a high end area, with many rich people in the demography of the area.

The opening of Chengdu Apple Store will collide with the launch of iPhone 5 in China (on the 14th December). We’re not sure whether we will see stocks of iPhones in the stores. Several months ago, we reported Apple’s big plan to open new stores across China in Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dalian and Hong Kong. As far as it goes, there’re only three left — one in Chengdu, one in Guangzhou and one in Dalian. One more thing, the Apple Store at Raffles Square in Chengdu would probably open around March next year. Stay tuned on us for updates.
