
Thanks to a bunch of budget smartphones revealed in China, more Chinese citizens from rural areas can afford to buy a smartphone. In China, there is about 388 million mobile internet users, up 10% from the start of the year. A report from China Internet Network Information Centre (CINIC) stated over 50% of new Internet users in the country are from rural areas. Will we see some villagers in China using smartphones to check the weathers while farming then?

No doubt that smartphones are more affordable than desktop PCs. People in Asian countries tend to browse the web via smartphones rather than using desktop PC. Given that Google’s Android has over 90% of market share in China, Android-based web browsers will be important in China.
