When you cannot afford a real iPhone 5, you don’t have to trade in your kidney. Recently, a Chinese dude crafted an iPhone 5 out of a piece of steel. He published a set of photos on Sina Weibo showing how he made it. Check it out after the break.

1 First I found a steel plate at 140mm long, 60mm wide, and 6mm thick. It is just perfect for iPhone5.

2 Then I began to cut and polish the steel plate according to iPhone5’s dimensions.

3 I draw a line on the plate where I will cut a tiny groove as iPhone5 does.

4 Then I began to make the steel grey by using chemical water. I did not dye it with paint because it will fade easily. Anyway, I did not do very well at this step.

5 I used precision plane polishing machine to polish the plate surface so that it will help to remove all the iron rust and make it feel smooth.

6 The same chemical water procedure happened to both bottoms of the plate to make them darker than other parts of the plate.

7 Then I draw the Apple logo and other iPhone5 words with a pencil.

8 Last, I print a copy of a menu face as big as the screen and stick that on the plate. The masterpiece is just done.

lol @ chinese people. once a great civilization deserving of the title of citizens of the “middle kingdom” has degraded into mindless idiots who indulge on overpriced fruit logos. unable to think individually, all chinese people resort to knockoffs, copying, stealing, just to have a “face”. well guess what? Chinese society is just trash rotting each generation from the inside out.

who’s fault that they turned out to be what they are today, huh!
the middle kingdom was invaded by foreigners for three hundreds –Manchurian, European and little japs and after that they went thru a bitter civil war… and you though everything turned better, there came the devastating cultural revolution.
not a single glorious empire could survive after that.

how the hell do you get from “some guy doing what he wants on his free time” to “Chinese society is just trash rotting each generation from the inside out.” lol I am from Japan, and from our perspective, the Chinese is getting back on their horse, hate it or love it, they are 2nd largest economy in the world, 3 strongest military and fastest growing country in human history.
