First Soapbox Racing in Hong Kong (Video)

Over 30,000 Hong Kongers lined up to witness the city’s first Red Bull Soapbox Race. The teams were judged on creativity, showmanship and speed. Food seemed to be a recurring theme, such as the ‘Hot Pot’ team, dressed as shrimp and squid, although they admitted they spent more time on the decoration than the mechanical aspects. Another local competitor said that his boss had invested time and money to create their ride – a butcher’s shop on wheels, complete with raw meat dangling from hooks.
