Here’s a Photo Showing How The Chinese Hack Apple’s Lightning Cable

We all know Apple’s new Lightning sync cable has a tricky Authentication Chip to stop knockoffs, and Apple is trying all means to stop Chinese suppliers to clone their Lightning Cable in order to get an MFi licensing fee from them. We previously reported that a Chinese company called iPhone5mod who has successfully cloned the Lightning Cable, despite the fact that Apple embedded a chip inside the cable. So, you may wonder how the Chinese company hack Apple’s Lightning Connector? Well, here we have a photo showing a Chinese supplier hacking the chip, and according to our sources, the Chinese supplier spent over a month to hack the chip.

    thats not an authentication chip to stop knockoff. thats a chip to know the orientation of the plug. you know that this new connector is reversible.. so that chip tells the connector where the positive and the negative should be.
