Huawei May Produces Surface Phone for Microsoft

front

A new rumor suggests that Huawei, the Chinese telecoms equipment maker, might be the chosen manufacturer to produce the rumored Microsoft Surface Phone. The info comes from a Twitter user who proved to offer quite accurate details on Microsoft’s plans for the Windows Phone platform before. Mediatek, the Taiwan company which specialize on system-on-chip solutions, is another Chinese manufacturer where Microsoft is interested in. The news suggest that the Surface phone may not be high-end after all, since Mediatek’s chips are widely used on very low end smartphones mainly in China and Huawei’s main distribution is also in China, which is a price sensitive market. It would not come as a surprise if the Surface phone, provided that this is the device Microsoft is working on, would be launched as an affordable smartphone for wider market reach. We might actually seeing a second-gen of KIN being brought to shelves. Anyone get excited ?
