First Non-Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Phone from ZTE

ZTE N880E smartphone, which was launched in China in May with Android 2.3, is now officially upgrading to Android 4.1. This will make the ZTE N880E the first smartphone to run Android 4.1 in China, and the first non-Nexus device to run Jelly Bean. ZTE properly was one of the limited number of partners that received the PDK beta, before Google even announced Jelly Bean to the public. The ZTE N880E, which only runs on China Telecom network, is a super cheap smartphone at the price of 789 yuan (US$123, no contract), the Jelly Bean upgrade should make it run smoother than ever before. It’s excited for Jelly Bean to arrive even on lower-end smartphones with 512MB RAM and single-core CPU. And of course we knew HTC is preparing to upgrade their One series smartphones to Jelly Bean very soon as well, but not for the low-end HTC One V …
