Glass Stair and Panel at Hong Kong’s Apple Store Draw Concerns of ‘Peeping’ (Video)

Apple stores in HK have brought plenty of good things, however, the aesthetic appeal of the cylinder glass staircase and glass-wall have an unfortunate side-effect where male customers can see up a woman’s skirt from the walkway. Women’s commission from Hong Kong’s democratic alliance has listed Hong Kong Apple Store as one of the black spot to cause ‘wardrobe malfunction’. The elaborate glass staircases are the hallmark of Apple’s flagship stores. The unique glass stairs create a feeling of light and openness. Some people like the illusion of floating in the air. All this thanks to Steve Jobs’ creative idea. But there was a learning curve, we are wondering how Apple had missed the fact that woman’s skirts were going to be a problem. Apple has already use some well-placed opaque glass to avoid the awkward, but the gaps between the steps are still easy for peeping. The huge glass-wall at Hong Kong’s Apple store that is facing the main road might be also a perverts’ dream. For now, Apple might just need to have more security guards to keep an eye out for people craning their necks.
