Alright, we have no idea of what really happened here, but according to workers from Foxconn’s Chengdu plant, a huge riot started at the dormitory of Foxconn’s main building in Chengdu, with hundreds to thousands of workers throwing trash bins, chairs, pots, bottles and fireworks. We have several photos after the break, and we will tell you what caused the riot.
Okay, the above photos are taken by a Foxconn employee, however, we are seemingly incapable of visually discerning how the photos are indicative of a riot of more than 1000 people. Well, we then dived into the deep social network of China to bring you more details of the riot, and here’s what we know so far.
According to Chengdu workers, they have been dismissed early from work everyday, and they have even been given day off for no reasons. The workers are afraid of getting paid less than the minimum wage if the working arrangement goes on like this. The situation went from bad to worse when some male workers raised their grievance on Monday night, by throwing trash bins, chairs, pots, bottles and fireworks from the upper floors of the dormitory building to the ground. What’s more, dorm administrators were beaten up, and the local public security bureau brought hundreds of police officers to suppress the riot, which ended after two hours. Hundreds of male workers who took part in the riot were arrested.
Well, we think Foxconn workers need better cameras to take photos in low light conditions.
