Meet the China Knockoff Superhero: CAPTAIN CHINA

front

This is a turly WTF … A Chinese comic company has just released the very first China superhero character, known as CAPTAIN CHINA. The red communist super hero is certainly a knockoff from Marvel Captain America. He is carrying a vintage pistol manufactured by the Soviet Communist Party, not the indestructible shield made in USA. When President Obama visited China, he has protected his safety. And yes, this CAPTAIN CHINA was frozen during Mao’s era and reborn in the future. And surprisingly, you can get this horrible Chinese superhero comic book in Kindle edition at Amazon. We got a 12 pages preview here, LOL …

UPDATE: This comic is written and drawn by two Chinese folks, named Chi Wang and Jim Lai. Chi Wang has been working with Marvel Comics before, and Jim Lai is a cartoonist from Hong Kong. The comic is published by a company call ‘Excel Comics’ located at Orlando Florida. The first episode has a total of 37 pages, come with both Chinese and English version. Initially, the author planned to produce a funny comic to satirize the America super hero, with a communist character. After visiting the great China, Wang wants to create an America style Chinese super hero that carry justice in the communist country.

Right now, the Chinese version of Captain China can be downloaded free in China. (Link here, the green button.) As usual, the Chinese reader properly doesn’t care about the copyright. The author might be an American-born-Chinese that admire the communism of China. (UPDATE: look like the author has left us a comment, see below … ) We feel that this comic has really made China look ugly, especially compare to Captain America, but who know, some Chinese reader might love it !

    so much fail

  • Thanku4playing …

I would probably do two things before I ever wrote an article … FACT check and SPELL check … are you “turly” sure this was made by China? … Orlando, Florida doesn’t sound a whole lot like Chinese province to me. I have it on some good authority this was done as a jab by some Marvel and DC Comics guys. MIC Gadget fail.

Look like some ‘5 cents gang’ or China communist lover has come to our site … welcome !

  • ReaverZ

    Well, is it any good?

  • Chi Wang

You still have some misinformed information. The author Chi Wang is a Taiwan-born Chinese who immigrated to America and then became a citizen. He does not admire communism, he just thought it offers a unique cultural environment to tell an interesting superhero story.

You also need to remove that download link immediately from your above posting because I happen to be the creator and owner of Captain China and Excel Comics. Otherwise, Amazon will be informed of this copyright leak and they (on my behalf) will bring legal actions to this site.

    Thanks!

We have made the correction … and the download link has been removed. We think that you should look up for the China sites on those illegal download … a nice try on this Captain China comic, but we think that you should look up for a good screenwriter … btw, CNN has linked us on this news …

I personally think this comic idea is AWESOME!

Chi Wang, I love the fact that you are so overtly protecting your own IP while blatantly ripping off someone elses

      awesome

    • Smaogirl

I love this comic. It is great. Do not pay attention to people who say you are copying Captain America. I think your sense of humor was lost on them. Captain China shooting the criminal at the press conference – Brilliant.

Nice, where can I get it? (not as an e-book)

  • Wow

English is clearly your second language.  Can’t they have someone who knows English grammar and spelling write articles in English??

    Thanks for sharing.

It makes me chuckle at people thinking that Captain America was this revolutionary concept that is sacred and cannot have any characters based on him when the entire Cape Comics genre is all about similar concepts being shared, developted and based on themselves.

Do you guys will get pissed if I list the amount of International Captains made around the world? Captain China isn’t the first Knockoff. What is important is that despite the similar origin, he is his own character and that alone makes it ok. It isn’t Steve Rogers as a communist, it’s this new guy with a similar past being a patriot for his own country.
Where are the blog posts belittling Captain Italia? How about Du Pount? Capitão Brasil? Come on, bring those on.

The amazing thing about the Chinese is they copy everything – comic books to political correctness.

originality and creativity is not their strength.
