Beijing, the capital of China, is planning to offer foreign tourists a 72 hour visa-free entry to attract more people to visit the city. The policy is expected to be similar to Shanghai, which only offer 48 hours of visa-free entry. Comparing to other countries, China has relatively tight visa restrictions and has few visa exemption agreements with other countries. But the communist China has gradually loosened its visa policy in recent years to attract more tourists. Besides boosting tourism, the visa project will also help China in its diplomacy and foreign trade in the long run. We are wondering the new visa-free policy has any conflict with the recently crackdown on foreigners illegally staying in the capital.
