Baidu said they will announce a tie-up next week for new mobile devices, which is going to be similar when Dell launched a smartphone running on Baidu’s Yi platform last December. The new smartphone will run an upgraded version of Baidu Yi — called Baidu Cloud. Besides, the executive teased details of the launch that the company will announce a few partnerships next week, and that’s probably indicating Foxconn and ZTE or perhaps some other handset makers.

The shots above were speculated to be the leaked shots of Baidu’s phone. The leakage is from the Baidu’s mobile development director (Yue Guofeng)’s weibo account, but it had been immediately deleted. From the leaked shot, we can tell that the Baidu’s phone is having a quite similar to the matte polycarbonate unibody chassis like on the Lumia phones, sports a 3.5-inch display that houses four capacitive keys at the bottom, and comes with various colors.

Based on these shots, we expect to see the customized Android OS Baidu Cloud to come with Weibo integration, Siri-like voice recognition, and some other Baidu’s own services. Allegedly, the phone will have 100GB of cloud storage and the capacity can be increased for free. It was said to be priced round about 1,000 RMB ($159) and to be released with China Unicom’s contract next week. So far, here’s everything we have got about this Baidu’s phone. We will keep you update when this phone launches next week.
