Chinese Zither, also known as Gu-Zheng, is a traditional Chinese musical instrument usually made of phoenix tree wood. It has a rectangle sound box and a surface in a curve with 21 tight strings. The common performance technique of Gu-Zheng is to pluck the strings with the thumb, index finger and middle finger of the player’s right hand, with his left hand pulling the strings. Despite the complex fingering, the instrument is now easy to start with dedicated apps and iPad device …
A talented guy from Dalian city Northeast China, had used two Apple iPads to imitate the playing of Chinese Zither. It’s quite amazing to use both your hands to control the ’strings’ on the touch surface. You can get the apps over at iTunes for US$2.99, it do support iPhone and iPod touch.
